Be sure that your heating equipment has been professionally serviced as we enter this winter season. Heaters are involved in 1 out of 7 house fires. Check out this information, provided by the National Fire Protection Association, on reducing the risks of fire this winter.
Crystal Fire Department members participated in 1 of 4 monthly trainings. The class taught by Chief Forshee and Captain Ridgeway included safety instructions and scenarios. After the safety brief, members practiced using extrication equipment to perform life saving measures. The extrication equipment is commonly referred to as the ‘Jaws of Life’.
Harvest Fest hosted at Carter Off-Road Park. Carter Off Road Park is an 1000 acre off-road vehicle park. The majority of this park is in our service district in Pulaski County, but a portion of the park rests in Saline County. Crystal Fire Department and Collegeville Volunteer Fire Department operate a joint task force during the entirety of this event and others throughout the year.
Crystal Fire Department hosted the Pulaski County Tanker Task Force and participated in a training exercise along with Arch Street Fire, North Pulaski Fire and West Pulaski Fire. The objective was to sustain a ladder pipe off of a tanker shuttle. The task force meets every three months for joint trainings. The Tanker Task Force was created to assist departments around Central Arkansas where water supplies are limited, non-existent, or damaged.
